Seongjin Lee

Biography

Dr. Seongjin Lee is a dedicated academic and researcher in the Department of Software Engineering at Gyeongsang National University (GNU), where he also serves as the Dean of the Office of Information Systems and Technology. With a strong foundation in computer engineering, he earned his Ph.D., master’s, and bachelor’s degrees from Hanyang University, Seoul, specializing in electronics and computer engineering.

Dr. Lee’s research interests focus on software systems for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), digital twin technologies, edge computing, and artificial intelligence applications in healthcare and aerospace engineering. His notable contributions include publications on UAV-based systems for wildfire monitoring, visual acuity assessment through fundus imaging, and atomicity violation detection in critical software systems.

Beyond research, Dr. Lee has held various leadership roles, including Director of the Korean Institute of Information Scientists and Engineers (KIISE) and membership in international committees such as the Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers (KIEE). His industry experience includes a research internship at Samsung Electronics and contributions to storage systems research.

Known for his commitment to both education and innovation, Dr. Lee actively bridges academia and industry, mentoring students while advancing practical solutions to contemporary technological challenges. His work reflects a balanced dedication to theoretical exploration and real-world application.
